The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a statutory body that regulates the construction industry in South Africa, promoting standards and development.

 

About the Bursary Programme

 

The CIDB is offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing construction and built environment qualifications.

  • Civil Engineering

  • Building Science

  • Project Management

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the CIDB Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with a Bachelor's pass (minimum 60% in Mathematics and Science)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Strong academic record with minimum 65% average

  • Must be passionate about the construction industry

  • Not in receipt of any other government-funded bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full academic record (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance or registration at a recognized institution

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter detailing your interest in construction

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' payslips or affidavit)
