The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is a statutory body that regulates the home building industry in South Africa.

 

About the Bursary Programme

 

The NHBRC is offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing built environment qualifications.

 

Fields of Study

  • Construction Management

  • Civil Engineering

  • Quantity Surveying

  • Building Science

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the NHBRC Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with a Bachelor's pass (minimum 60% in Mathematics and Science)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Strong academic record with minimum 65% average

  • Must be interested in the construction and housing industry

  • Not in receipt of any other government-funded bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full academic record (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance or registration at a recognized institution

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter expressing your interest in construction

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' payslips or affidavit)
